Lionel Messi fails to speak with MLS media AGAIN after Nashville draw in a second violation of league rules

Lionel Messi did not speak to reporters for a second straight game after Inter Miami’s scoreless draw vs. Nashville SC on Wednesday – a violation of the league’s media rules.

Messi was not made available after his MLS debut at the New York Red Bulls last weekend.

And the Argentine once again did not talk to the media following a hard-fought point for his side in Fort Lauderdale.

Mail Sport reached out to a team spokesperson on Wednesday asking if Messi would be made available, but has not received a response at the time of publishing.

A match report from the Miami Herald did not include any postgame quotes from Messi.

Lionel Messi has given just once press conference so far since arriving at Inter Miami

Prior to the Red Bulls game, Dan Courtemanche, MLS’s executive vice president of communications, said that Messi – like all players – was required to be available to media after games.

Some teams do find ways around the league’s media access policy, in particular the open locker room access, by bringing out select players for interviews or press conferences.

It is unclear if Miami or Messi will face sanctions for the violation last weekend, or if they’ll face sanctions for the violation on Wednesday.

He was held in check Wednesday night at Miami drew 0-0 with Nashville SC at home

Messi also did not speak to the media following Miami’s Leagues Cup final victory over Nashville.

He has only given one press conference so far, speaking through a translator.

Wednesday night was the first time that Miami has failed to score in a match since Messi made his club debut on July 21 vs. Cruz Azul.

The club is facing an uphill battle to make the MLS postseason, as it’s 10 points out of the final play-in spot with as many games to play.
