Vegeta’s 10 Worst Defeats in Dragon Ball

Dragon Ball: Vegeta’s 10 Worst Defeats, in OrderAtilla Battezzati

Despite being one of Dragon Ball’s most powerful characters, Vegeta has suffered some serious defeats over the years.

It’s not easy for an anime series to survive for several decades, let alone actively thrive as it ages. However, Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball fandom only gets more intense. Dragon Ball has respectfully indulged in several fights with various characters over the years, while also reinventing the genre and setting new standards for the next generation of action series. The superpowered power clashes that punctuate the major conflicts in Dragon Ball are typically the most memorable moments in the series.

What’s special about Dragon Ball is that each character has a distinct fighting style. Few individuals in the series are more fascinating than the Prince of the SaiyansVegetaVegeta’s quest to be the strongest never ends, and he is always ready to enter the battle. Vegeta remains one of Dragon Ball’s most powerful characters, though he has suffered some especially brutal beatings along his journey.

10 – Android No. 18 breaks Vegeta’s arm

Vegeta is full of confidence when he makes his big entrance as Super Saiyan when Dr. Gero and his Androids come out of the den. Goku’s strength is in flux at this point, which leads Vegeta to boast of his new power even more than usual.

Vegeta destroys Android No. 19 right in his own style, and without any difficulty, but he goes through a great humiliation when his opponent switches to Android No18. The fight between them takes place on a busy road and the impact of the fight causes a wide web of destruction. Vegeta isn’t quite finished facing No. 18, but she breaks his arm and reiterates that he’s not as strong as he thinks he is.

9 – Bills beat Vegeta and insult his pride

The arrival of Lord Bills, the God of Destruction, brings several new levels of celestial deities to the ever-expanding Dragon Ball universe. Bills represents a level of power more immense than Earth’s heroes have ever experienced. Vegeta is one of the few individuals who truly understands the gravity of this situation.

Vegeta has witnessed the destructive power of Bills in the past and is afraid to provoke the temper of the God of Destruction. That said, Vegeta can’t help but get involved after Bills slaps Bulma and insults Vegeta’s wife. The Prince of Saiyans automatically springs into action, but Bills quickly gains the upper hand by ending the fight.

8 – Goku does not fight with all his power against Majin Vegeta

The original battle between Goku and Vegeta is a high point that Dragon Ball struggled to recreate. Dragon Ball periodically flirts with Vegeta returning to his villainous roots, but this threat seems most threatening during the Saiyan Prince’s period as Majin Vegeta. A fierce fight between Goku and Majin Vegeta takes place where Vegeta expresses years of pent-up frustration.

Majin Vegeta technically wins the fight (cheating with a blow from the back), but Goku landed too many blows and left Vegeta badly damaged. What’s even worse is the psychological blow Vegeta experiences when he later learns that Goku was holding on during this fight and could have turned into Super Saiyan 3 from the beginning of the fight.

7 – Perfect Cell humiliates Vegeta and proves the inferiority of the Saiyan

Dragon Ball’s characters, particularly the Saiyans, openly accept a worthy challenge. His commitment to a satisfying battle often clouds his judgment and allows the villain to gain the upper hand. For example, Vegeta’s dominance over his Super Saiyan state gives him supremacy over Cell’s incomplete forms.

Vegeta is so arrogant about his power that he willingly allows Cell to absorb the Androids 17 and 18 that are necessary for him to reach his perfect form. What follows is horrible and Vegeta completely succumbs to Perfect Cell. It’s a devastating reality shock for the Saiyan who comes to a head when his son, Future Trunks, dies even temporarily.

6 – Planet-devouring Moro ends up with Vegeta through magical manipulation

The crowd of anime fans eagerly await the release of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, but those who pored over the Dragon Ball Super manga experienced several new threats that gave the heroes a break from the anime. Moro is an ancient magic user who regains his youth and is able to wreak havoc on Goku and Vegeta through his mysterious magic.

Vegeta does a commendable job against Moro thanks to his Forced Spirit Fission technique, but he ends up becoming yet another of the planet-eater’s many casualties. Future enemies like Granola and Gas have also defeated Vegeta enough, but Moro is far more malevolent of all.

5 – Vegeta’s desperate attempt at self-destruction in the final act of the tournament of power

Tournaments are an integral part of the Dragon Ball course, but there have never been stakes as high as the Tournament of Power. This battle between the strongest fighters in the entire multiverse promises the complete erasure of universes that lose their 10 fighters in a Battle Royale-style process. Universe 7 has a valiant performance during the competition and Vegeta is responsible for many eliminations.

However, the final act of the tournament becomes quite confusing when Jiren from Universe 11 shows his power. Vegeta is so defeated and overwhelmed that he chooses to use his Final Explosion self-destruct technique. Thankfully, Vegeta doesn’t die, but it’s a glimpse of him at his most vulnerable.

4 – Recoom Pulverizes Vegeta Until Goku’s Intervention

The battle against Frieza becomes the main event of Planet Namek. Before this confrontation, a lot of blood was shed against the Ginyu Force. This group of mercenaries at Frieza’s behest pressures VegetaGohan, and Krillin to join their efforts, but they are still highly dominated. Vegeta does a lot of the heavy lifting and at one point he helps Gohan and Krillin by executing Gurdo.

However, Vegeta soon fights the RecoomeRecoome’s attack on Vegeta is aggressive, emphasizing the brute strength this member of the Ginyu Force possesses. Vegeta’s body is destroyed and he has nowhere to run. Fortunately, Goku shows up and helps balance the scales, but the beating had already been taken by Vegeta.

3 – Majin Boo [Fatty] overpowers Vegeta and pushes him towards self-destruction

There’s a lot in the air during the heroes’ battle against Majin Boo. All sorts of contrasting strategies are used during this dark period, whether it’s the power of fusion, the transformations of Super Saiyan 3, or Gohan’s new Ultimate update. Each of these tactics ends up missing and Vegeta tragically discovers that he is not strong enough to defeat this evil.

Boo leaves Vegeta physically and mentally broken, which leads him to consider self-destruction as a final resource. Majin Vegeta’s Final Explosion turns out to be unsuccessful against Boo, which makes the Saiyan’s pain and suffering even stronger.

2 – Goku e os Guerreiros Z esmagam Vegeta durante a invasão Saiyajin

Vegeta is arguably more terrifying when he arrives on Earth during the Saiyan invasion in the first arc of Dragon Ball Z. What follows is one of the most comprehensive attacks in the anime that pits GokuKuririnGohan, and even Yajirobe against Vegeta and his aggressive tactics.

Vegeta is attacked by Goku’s Kaio-Ken Attack and Spirit Bomb (Genki Dama), and is later crushed by Gohan’s Oozaru form. He can barely move at the end of this conflict, and it’s only Goku’s empathy that spares his life. Up to this point, Vegeta had never experienced a defeat of this nature, let alone by a Saiyan as he characterized at the time “lower class.” It irrevocably destroys their pride.

1 – Frieza’s final form humiliates and ends up with Vegeta in Namek

The fight against Frieza on Planet Namek brings most of the heroes to their breaking point and the universe would have faced ruin if not for the important transformation of Goku’s Super Saiyan. Many heroes die at Frieza’s hands, but Vegeta’s elimination is especially vindictive.

Frieza knows Vegeta’s deep pride in his fallen warrior race, which the tyrant uses to mock him during his final moments. In both body and spirit, Vegeta is completely helpless. At this point, it is far from a guarantee that he will return from this death.
