The NBA is without comparison in terms of the star-quality players that play here. It isn’t the same as the various national soccer leagues in Europe being relatively closely matched and having international tournaments to decide champions of Europe or the World.

The NBA has the best quality of basketball players in the world by a fair distance, so it’s a safe assumption to say that the team that wins the NBA title will likely not lose to any basketball team in the world over a seven-game series.

The Players That Stood Up For The NBA

Among the players who stood up for the NBA champions being called world champions were Olympic Gold medalists Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, and Devin Booker.

Durant has won the NBA title and the Olympic Gold, and he definitely would say the challenge of winning an NBA title was greater. Booker and Lillard haven’t even won championships in the NBA but walked to an Olympic Gold medal due to the clear difference in star power among countries in the world.

The NBA is becoming an international league with some of its best players being non-Americans. But the teams play under the American flag as basketball is given a unique structure to succeed in the USA like nowhere else in the world.
