Neymar’s Saudi Pro League Contract To Rival Cristiano Ronaldo As Massive Wages Revealed

Brazil star Neymar is reportedly in line to earn a whopping £2.5 million per week after agreeing to become the next marquee signing in the Saudi Pro League.

The former Barcelona forward has found himself out of favour at Paris Saint-Germain and huge news broke on Sunday claiming that Neymar had reached an agreement with Saudi side Al Hilal.

Al Hilal, who are one of the four clubs primarily controlled by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), have splashed out on the likes of Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Malcom.

They also put forward mammoth proposals for both Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe but were ultimately unsuccessful.

However, Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Neymar will travel to Saudi this week after Al Hilal and PSG agreed on a €90 million (£69 million) fee.

The 31-year-old is set to sign a two-year contract and take on the vacant No.10 shirt. According to Sky Sports,

the Santos academy product will earn £260 million over two years in Saudi and become one of the highest-paid players in world football.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the first player to put the Saudi Pro League on the map when he agreed a world-record £177 million-a-year salary in December last year.

But Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports claims Neymar will earn wages “comparable” to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner with all earnings taken into account.

French Al Ittihad duo Karim Benzema, (£173 million) and N’Golo Kante are also in the mix as two of the top earners in Saudi.

Incredibly, it’s emerged that Neymar could be paid 50% of his salary in one go as some players are being told they can receive a lump sum if they sign on the dotted line.

PSG, meanwhile are making a substantial loss on the £198 million they splashed out to make Neymar the most expensive player of all-time in 2017.
