Selena Gomez is hitting back at rumors that her new song Single Soon is about her relationship with The Weeknd.
Gomez, 31, dropped the single last week, with the accompanying music video featuring the singer in a stunning pink minidress.
Shortly after the song’s debut, rumors surfaced that the song was really about The Weeknd, who she dated and even moved in with briefly over a nine-month relationship in 2017.
The song also comes just months after DailyMail.com exclusively reported Gomez thought The Weeknd’s show The Idol was ‘creepy’ since the main character Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) had so many similarities to her own real-life journey.
As for the rumors about her new song’s meaning, she commented on an Instagram post from the website Hollywood Life, revealing that is not true.

Just two days earlier, the singer took to Instagram to share the real meaning of her new song.
‘Thank you guys for all the love on Single Soon!!!’ she began in her Instagram post to her 428 million followers.
‘It’s a playful anthem about being comfortable in your own skin and loving your own company,’ she said.
The singer/actress also included a a pink hearts emoji, before adding, ‘And it’s also really fun to dance to!’
Earlier in August, she teased her new song Single Soon, adding that her forthcoming album isn’t quite finished yet.

Her legions of fans — 428 million on Instagram alone — raved about her musical comeback.
