Attack on Titan The Final Season Trailer Teases an Action-Packed Series Finale is published
A One Piece animator has teased the peak of a key arc and fight in the popular anime.
The long-standing franchise, over 1000 episodes strong, is currently embroiled in the “Wano” arc. The story is highlighted by the arrival of 5th Gear Luffy and his fight with the mighty dragon Kaido. Even without the 5th Gear, the anime has been praised for how the two’s clash has been rendered on screen. Now, animator Henry Thurlow has revealed that an upcoming episode will conclude Luffy and Kaido’s battle.
One Piece Enters a Key Phase
Henry Thurlow has a special place in One Piece history. He’s an American animator but has worked on the Japanese anime several times. He was so good with the team that he became the first non-Japanese person to direct an episode of the anime. Fans are enthralled by the power of 5th Gear Luffy, a form he unlocked during this fight. So, with the fight ending, it will be exciting to see how Luffy overcomes the dragon and the powers he might garner.
The irony of 5th Gear Luffy is that it doesn’t use typical anime tropes. Traditionally, when an anime protagonist or antagonist, depending on the series, gets a new level of power, it’s very much about their energy and showcasing how much stronger they are in their attacks. However, with 5th Gear Luffy, he acts like a character instilled with Toon Force. That’s a direct reference to Western animation and shows like Looney Tunes, where the characters can basically do anything they want without question or issue. Even Luffy says in the episode he unlocked the form in that he could do anything he wants, and he’s shown that with several attacks on Kaido.
The One Piece live-action adaptation is on Netflix now for those who want to see the very beginning of Luffy’s adventure. The first season focuses on many of the main events from the manga’s first arc, and many fans have been pleased with how things are being done or changed for the better.
