Jisoo (BlackPink) with her solo hit ‘Flower’ was nominated in 6 categories of the 2023 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards).
MAMA ( Mnet Asian Music Awards ) 2023 officially announced the nominations gathering familiar stars who have contributed a lot to the Kpop industry this year. Eligible artists must have music products released between October 22, 2022 and September 30, 2023. Accordingly, BlackPink ‘s Jisoo is one of the artists appearing the most on the nomination list.
Jisoo with the hit Flower was nominated for a total of 6 categories, including: Best Female Solo Artist, Best Female Solo Artist with Best Dance Performance, MV of the Year, Song of the Year, Artist of the Year and International Fans’ Favorite Artist.
According to many viewers’ predictions, Jisoo and Flower are strong candidates for Best Female Solo Artist, Best Female Solo Artist with Best Dance Performance and MV of the Year at MAMA 2023.
Flower was released in March 2023. Up to now, the song and MV have still broken a series of “huge” records. When it was first released, the song Flower ranked high on many domestic and foreign music charts, and the choreography was widely popular through social networking platforms. The MV also broke view milestones, reaching 410 million views on YouTube (as of noon October 20).
The 2023 Mnet Asian Music Awards ceremony is expected to be held on November 28 and 29 at Tokyo Dome Stadium (Japan). Besides Jisoo, BlackPink has no group nominations at MAMA 2023. Similarly, members of the popular boy band BTS, Jungkook, J-Hope, and Jimin, are only on the list as individuals.
